Final Reflection

I have found this course to be great.  It has shown me some new tools that I am excited to start using in my classroom now that I will have Chromebooks next year.   I think that the class was set up in a way to allow us to explore these tools at our own pace but also at our own comfort level.  I did find my self at times getting lost in all the different possibilities.  I think that as I get more effective at using them it will be easier to expand on the use of these tools.  I see a lot of potential in Pear Deck, Movenote, Google forms, and Socrative.  I think that using Pear Deck and having the opportunity to check for understanding with the built in checks will be great to guide my instruction at the moment.
Google forms and Socrative will be great tools to use for formative assessments and to share across the PLC to make sure we are learning from each other and that we are instructing the students at the appropriate level.  I also like that we will be able to take the data from these checks to get a picture of the whole grade level not just one class.  I have a couple of ideas on how to use Movenote in the classroom.  I would like to try a couple of "flipped" classes in some of the units and Movenote could make that easier.  I also would like the students to make a couple of Movenote presentations to show what they are taking away in their learning.

I have been thinking a lot about moving my class away from paper pencil and more electronic.  I am excited about having that opportunity for my students and my self, but I am worried about finding ways to make sure ALL students have access to the same material.  Many of our students do have online access at home, but but some do not so I need to adjust my curriculum to accommodate both.

I think the blogger set up for this class was great as it allowed us to work at our own pace and still have a way to interact with others in our group.  I am not sure I would like this for my classroom.  I really like Google Classroom as a primary source of communication with my students.
